There will be an Emergency planed Outage on Thursday Night the 2nd of June at 11:30pm AEST to replace a Route Processor module in one of our primary MPLS routers at the Sydney Data Center - edge-george-1
The replacement is to rectify reports from monitoring systems of a bad memory module on the card.
The procedure for replacing the card involves switching to the stand-by processor on the router which will take approximately 25 seconds. During that time no packets will be forwarded by the router. End users should as a result see a small 30 second outage while the switch over takes place.
Once the routing duties have switched to the standby card Spectrum Staff will be able to replace the damaged card with no further downtime on the network.
There should be no need for users or IT managers to do anything as a result of this outage and services should return to normal after approximately 30 seconds.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
