Incident report - cluster2-g outage

Postby matt » Wed Sep 02, 2015 5:38 pm

At 14:16 on September 2nd the node cluster2-g reported an error and became non-responsive. Cluster2-g is responsible for many web hosts and software defined routing instances within the network.

At 14:17 Spectrum staff were alerted to the problem and a technician attempted to reboot the node at 14:17. Power could not be restored to the node and the node remained unresponsive. The technician then began fault finding to determine the reason that the node could not be restarted.

At 15:00 The technician transferred the node to a new FatTwin chassis and normal functionality was restored.

The node was brought back to normal operation at 15:09 in the new chassis. A case has been logged with the hardware vendor to explain why the original slot remains unavailable.

We apologize for any inconvenience
