At Approximately 21:46 on Saturday the 24th of January some areas of the network were isolated due to a power failure in a rack within the Sydney data center.
On inspection it was discovered that software on a power automatic transfer power switch had locked up and cut power to the rack. Power was restored after engineers reset the ATS which restored power to two key switches in the rack restoring power and network connectivity to the isolated sections at 22:14
Engineers have patched a secondary temporary feed into the ATS and will investigate the outage with the manufacturer of the ATS after the long weekend.
