What is Cloud/Virtualization?

Virtualization has been a mainstay of mainframes and midrange systems for over 30
years. Now that this technology has become available on industry standard systems running
common operating systems, such as Windows, Linux and Unix, the word “Virtualization”
has become a major catch phrase being bandied about in the media today.

Virtualization is the use of hardware and software technology to present a logical view of
resources. This logical view is often strikingly different than the actual physical view.

What does this really mean? Well, it depends upon which type of Virtualization technology being examined. Users may see the image of many different computers even though it is a single system. They may see many individual systems as a single computing resource.

What does Spectrum Networks offer?

Spectrum Networks Virtualization environment "MyCloud" offers customers a single unified interface to all their virtual hosts. Users can start, stop, reboot and access KVM of their virtual host. As well as check backup status, configure off site backups, maintain watchdog and much more all from a unified web interface.

Hosts can be built in real time on the Spectrum Networks cloud in short order. Resources can be varied as required to allow more CPU's or memory as requirements change, or load and demands grow.

Spectrum can also provide private cloud architecture for large clients or clients that require dedicated hardware for security or design reasons, all using the Spectrum MyCloud interface without the need to maintain your own VPS software such as Vmware or Xen.
